Summer & Holiday favourites

I haven't posted in a while because of holiday stuff - I went to spain at the end of June and I'm actually going back tomorrow but I definitely wanted to squeeze in a post of some of the summer favourites I'm loving throughout the hot season especially when on holiday.

As we all know, spf is vital and although tanning is huge during summer essentially it's skin damage - but since I'm already brown I don't need to tan and get darker so I use a pretty high spf of 45. The  Missha all around safe sunblock essence is my current favourite for my face because it's so light and not thick or heavy like body sunblock.

I also have been wearing the & other stories moire green nail polish which is the loveliest light sea foam green and looks especially amazing in the summer season.

I have two blush products I've been using non stop - first off is the Kevyn Aucoin creamy glow duo which I feel like I go on about...It's just so tiny and easy to travel with and the two shades are perfect for summer. Although I prefer cream blushes to powder blushes in general, I have been adoring the bobbi brown shimmer brick in rose. Although I think the Nectar shade is way more suited for summer because of the beautiful coral-peach shades. But the reason I've been loving the shimmer brick is because it gives both a beautiful blush and highlight at the same time so you can achieve that sun kissed look with just one product! Also the shimmer isn't chunky glitter it's very finely milled and smooth which compliments the skin nicely.

For the lips I've been using the dior lip glow a lot, because it has spf 15, tints the lips and is pretty much lip balm. Although it doesn't offer much colour I've been reaching for it a lot for some reason!

The Prada Candy perfume is my go to summer scent - I won't try to explain the scent because it will just confuse you, although it is supposed to be in the "warm spicy" fragrance family (whatever that means). I just love this scent because it's not overpowering but very feminine and lingers on you for a long time which I love because I always feel like perfume fades rapidly on me although whether it actually does I'm not sure.

Finally, the Skin79 seaweed cooling mask is a hydrating and cooling wash off face mask. Although this doesn't do miraculous wonders the skin it definitely does hydrate and cool the skin which does help if you've got sunburned. I do use this a lot because it's a very simple mask and doesn't irritate my skin and it's nice to use a simple mask!

Dior serum de rouge 455 Tea Rose Crystal review

 

Dior serum de rouge 455 tea rose crystal - £26.50

The serum de rouge lipstick is quite unlike anything I own, packaging wise it's very sleek and chic, it's quite long and skinny with a geometric looking design and silver dior engraved rings contrasting with the black. Ah onto the price, this is well..quite a lot ..Ok it is a lot

So you see a silver seal, on the seal it tells you that to get product you need to twist the bottom bit twice, twisting it twice gives about 1-2 mm of product - not only is this tiresome but you can't twist all the product back down like you would with a normal lipstick so if you twist up too much well you're stuck.

Also the colour isn't at all like the bullet, the bullet shows a deep rose kind of pink, but it comes out like a creamy nude pale pink and not quite the rose colour that I expect with a touch of gold shimmer that I also did not expect. The colour is pretty but just not on me (sigh) I think this would suit pale skin tones beautifully.

Oh and other thing, on the little leaflet that comes in the box which I randomly decided to read, the serum de rouge claims that texture of the lipstick "melts over your lips for absolute comfort and unique pleasure" - which it does
And the integral care is that it's "unparalleled formula, highly concentrated with lip sticks (ten times more then our classic lip stick) illuminates your lips with youthful beauty and after 1 month of daily use, they are deeply moisturised, smoothed and redefined." - I haven't tried this daily for over a month so I can't comment on it, however I'm interested to look into this claim as baby lips claimed something similar about lip lines and in no way did that happen.

So to sum it up, the creamy texture and over all luxury of this product cannot be denied so if you want this in your collection, or are looking for something a bit better or like the upgraded version of the lip butters then try this (but I'd recommend going in store and trying it on before purchasing).
But if this is out of your budget, don't worry as this isn't a to die for product in my experience, and you can get like two drug store lip butters for the same price.
Also if you're looking for something similar to this product but not a lip butter, then I would recommend looking into the missha deep moisture lip essence which feels very similar on the lips to the Dior one, although the colour is more of a deeper pink - this also has spf and is just around the £5 mark.

Dior addict Lip Glow revivor balm - Review

Dior Addict lip glow - (£22.50)

The Dior Lip Glow is a high end tinted lip balm, as I love tinted lip balm and tints in general I had to get my mits on this.  The balm has a moisturising formula which I like, it does tint your lips to a rosy warm look which 'awakens' your look and 'revives' your lips through the moisture properties. I do like this balm however it can be a little too glossy for my liking as I'd prefer it to be just the subtle hint of colour and not to make my lip look like they're heavily coated in gloss.
